The high horizon, extensive working of the plate, beautiful play of light and the subject of the woman gathering potatoes is in stark contrast to his previous work. It demonstrates the extraordinary effect that Palmer's work had on him, and just how completely he understood it, despite his young age. 6.75x8.75 inches.
