Cox's works from the period 1804-1814, when he was first in London, are similar in their handling to artists like Varley (from whom he took lessons) and Havell (which whom he went sketching). This work relates most closely to Cox's landscapes for a 'New Drawing Book of Light and Shadow, in Imitation of Indian Ink'. Twenty four aquatints we made by J Sutherland after Cox's designs and published by Ackermann as a Set.
