FRAMING and MOUNTING

Our mounts and frames are hand made by Mark Coakes, our in-house framer. He works from his purpose-built studio in Dorset and delivers to us at the end of each month. Works are then fitted at our workshop and storage space in S.E. London.

All our works on paper are mounted by Mark before they appear on monthly Lists of new stock. They are given lines and washes by hand. We only use acid free conservation board. Should you buy something from us and want a diffent size or appearance of mount we can advise you. Prices for new mounts are usually £25 – £100.

Much of our stock is sold already framed; we keep works in their original frames whenever possible. But works that are sold only mounted can be framed for between £50 – £150 depending on size and whether UV or Museum glass is necessary. We offer an intentionally limited range of simple mouldings in plain oak, gold and black (hand stained and wax finished). Many years of experience has taught us that this is all most pictures need to be best presented… We can advise you on what frame we consider to be most appropriate for each picture.

The size of our stock and frequency of our Lists means that Mark is usually busy making mounts and frames for the gallery, and for customers who have bought something from us. But we are more than happy to discuss framing and mounting works acquired elsewhere.
