ANON (Nineteenth-Century)
The 'Carnarvon Castle' (built 1867) rigged as a Barque.
Oil on canvas. c.1890/1900. In 1910 the Carnarvon Castle was dismasted in a gale and abandoned in the North Atlantic. It was sailing from Peru to Antwerp with a cargo of guano. The crew were rescued by the steamship Salybia.
