Stoutshanks (fl.1828-29), S
A Pluralist; 'A Tithe Pig Swallow'd without Grace'.
Pen and ink. 1828. Signed and dated, 'S Stoutshanks / Invent et Fecit / AD 1828'.. Drawing for the satirical print published by S. Gans in 1830 (see impression in the Lewis Walpole Library). It is possible 'Stoutshanks' was the illustrator Robert Seymour (1798-1836), who published prints under the name 'Shortshanks' for a while, until Cruikshank objected!
