The Stock consists largely of watercolours and drawings but includes oil paintings and prints and is arranged in rooms on three floors. It is introduced via ‘Lists’(our catalogues), selected groups and exhibitions. The ground floor shows a selection of 18th, 19th and 20th century pictures. The first floor is given over to the 18th and 19th centuries and the second floor to the 20th century and the room in which we hold our specific exhibitions.
LISTS (Catalogues)

These are published on a ‘List Friday’ every 7 weeks and introduce 200 pictures to stock. They are sent to around 4000 people, all of whom have asked to receive it. This database is revised every few years in an attempt to make sure that it is only going to people who really want to receive it. The ‘Lists’ themselves form our main advertisement so we are keen they should be widely dispersed amongst those interested. However, as familiarity with the Internet increases more people are choosing to view each ‘List’ at our website. These people, and all those abroad, are sent ‘e mail alerts’ on ‘List Friday’.
SELECTED GROUPS

Every month has attached to it a ‘Selected Group’ of works. These can be of a particular period, style, school or aspect of an artist’s work and hangs as a mini exhibition. They are chosen across the period 1770 to the present day. On view at the Gallery and on our website, priced, well in advance, they are not on sale until the 1st day of the relevant Month. Anyone interested in a work can put their name ‘in the hat’ and if there is more than one person after any work we hold a draw.
EXHIBITIONS click here to view
There is usually a specific exhibition showing on our second floor. They are intentionally various and can be of anything from the work of a late 18th century artist to that of a young contemporary. We are always interested to see the work of artists past and present. All are illustrated on our website.
