Grete Marks (1899-1990)
You may remember our two exhibtions of the paintings of the ceramicist and artist; of her work before the War (2006) and after (2007). This is an additional group featuring watercolours painted in Germany just after her Bauhaus years 1920-1921, in Dalmatia during 1934 while she was trying to find where to move after Nazi laws forced the sale of her ceramics factory, and Staffordshire where she settled on her arrival here and while working fro Mintons:
